Robert V.A. Jones Award

The Robert V.A. Jones Award recognizes an exceptional contribution to the development or the promotion of the in-house counsel bar or community, including significant research or writing on related issues. The Award is administered by the Nominating Committee of the CCCA.

ELIGIBILITY

Any current or past member of the in-house legal profession in Canada (other than a member of the current CCCA Executive Committee or Executive of the CBA or any CBA Branch) or other individual who has made an exceptional contribution to the development or promotion of the Canadian in-house counsel bar or community will be eligible.

NOMINATIONS

A nomination requires the signature of two CCCA Regular Members* in good standing, the nominee's CV and supporting letters if possible. The nomination must satisfy such other requirements as are established from time to time by the CCCA Awards Committee.

*CCCA Regular Members are CBA Members who are engaged by, or providing legal services to, any business enterprise, association or institution, crown corporation, government board or agency, municipal corporation, not-for-profit organizations, or regulatory board or agency.

DEADLINE 

Nominations for the 2021 Award are closed.

Nominate someone by providing the following:

  1. Nominee's name, address, phone and email address.
  2. Nominator's name, address, phone and email address.
  3. A summary of the reasons for the nomination (maximum 500 words)
  4. Nominee's CV (mandatory) and supporting letters (recommended, no more than two)
  5. Nominations require the signatures of two CCCA Regular Members in good standing. Please include their names, addresses, phone and fax numbers, as well as CBA/CCCA membership numbers.

NOTE: Nomination packages are limited to a maximum of 20 pages. Staff will remove any pages over the 20-page limit. Nominators must advise nominees of their nomination prior to submitting a nomination package.

The Award will be presented annually as chosen by the CCCA Awards Committee in its sole discretion. The Committee reserves the right to not present the Award in a given year.
